Twix Cookies. Made with a buttery, flaky shortbread base then add some caramel and top with chocolate, these cookies are bound to become a favorite.
A cookie is a baked or cooked food that is small, flat and sweet. It usually contains flour, sugar and some type of oil or fat. It may include other ingredients such as raisins, oats, chocolate chips, nuts, etc.
The other requirement for any cookie, in my book, is a chewy texture with a crisp outside but soft and gooey inside, and this cookie is most certainly that.
If your favorite candy bar is a Twix then you are going to love these shortbread TWIX Cookies!
The cookies start off with a buttery, flaky shortbread base then topped with caramel and finished with chocolate. I need to warn you that they are a very rich cookie so make sure you have some nice, cold milk on hand! Perfection!
Although these cookies look super decadent, they are easier to make than you think. You can easily use the Kraft wrapped caramels.
- To ensure recipe success if using a vegetable oil spread, use a spread with at least 65% vegetable oil.
- You can form these cookies more quickly if you use a #16 cookie/ice-cream scoop. Level off the dough on the edge of the bowl for perfectly round cookies.
- 1½ cups softened butter
